Can somebody PLEASE show/tell me how to wind the string back on the volume pot shaft of an old style Sho-Bud volume pedal??

Have you checked Scotty's website? I know that they have a dia gram for Goodrich pedals on there, maybe there's one for a Bud too. Good luck. |

WEll lets see if I can explain in words..ha.
With the pedal upside down with the back plate open and the head of the pedal away from you.
The pot is installed and the shaft sticks out to the right of the pot mounting.
You should have a collar that goes on that shaft and is tightened down by a set screw.
With the pedal compressed like it's all the way on; turn the shaft clockwise to the full on position; then back it off a touch.
The string is mounted under the shaft; pull the string up on this side of the shaft closest to you; as your going to wrap it around the shaft clockwise also. I wrap twice to the left of the set screw; then over to the right side of the set screw and once around that side; then bring it up to the stem/bracket that is standing up on this side of the shaft and run it over it and then around once on the screw that will hold it to that stem and tighten that screw. And yee haaa your good to go.
I like to have the pedal; when compressed on, that the pot is almost all the way open; and therefore when you go to the off position; it barely shuts off(maybe still a hit on volume on); as I like to use as much of the full open volume pot as possible. After you hook this up like that and the volume does not shut off enough for you; then there is a little hole on the side of the pedal that when you have the pedal in the full off position; you can access the end of the pot with a flat head screw driver; and hold the pedal hard in the off position and turn the pot to the left a smidge and you'll actually be slipping the pot around the string a little; and that will make the pot turn off more in the off position. You can't access that little hole with the pedal compressed, because the top section will hide it..ha.
