Les Paul Hum

I have a friend that has a Les Paul copy a few yrs old and its got a real bad hum in it he has checked all the grounds and can't find the problem. Can the pickups be the cause. any info will help Jack

If the pickups are single coil they might be causing the hum. I've experienced this many times before. My Les Paul with factory pickups doesn't hum. I've replaced all single coil pickups on everything to eliminate this problem. Humbucking pickups is the answer.
