I bought off ebay 2 BW 1504 4 ohm DT speakers, thought I was getting something else, anyway I put one in a LTD Session, the other in a Classic. The literature says they are to be used with a horn in an enclosure, not alone. Well to my surprise these by far are the best sounding speakers I have for steel, there is no mid range "honk", what comes out of the amp is what you hear, warm with all the highs you need. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has tried these, or if someone has one and would give it a try

I bought a spare Webb that had one of those. It sounded good, with a little more smoothness on highs than my other Webb with its original JBL K-130. But I lucked out on a matching JBL, so the BW is now the spare speaker. But in a way I almost liked it better than the JBL, truth be told, highs weren't as cutting.

If this is peavey black widow 1504 speakers,
This is what peavey puts in their steel amps, except for the new nashville 112.

Timmy, we use the 1501-4 shallow basket Black Widows in our steel amps. The 1504 was used in the early reverse folded horn enclosures such as the FH-1 and SP-1 public address type.
