mike cass just put a truetone pickup in my old pushpull. I had forgotten what great tone was. My guitar sounds amazing. My apologies to Jerry for waiting so long to try his wonderfull pickup.

BB welcome home. Now add a Hilton, then add a Black Box. It all just seems to be getting better and better. I took my Black Box out of the chain last night, let's just say that will not happen again.

| Why so much pre-amp guys. The box is a pre-amp? The Hilton has a pre-amp in it? Isn't there a fear of overdriving the amp? I would say one or the other. jmho |

| The Black Box doesn't impart much, if any, gain -- it's a "buffer" between the pickup and the rest of the world, and the pickup (incl. the True Tone in my Sho-Bud!) likes it. |

Just installed 17.5 TT Pickups in my 93 Emmons Legrand. It sounds good and clean. My friend Larry Behm was visiting and had me try the Black box. W0W...there was a difference. Those Pickups really do like the black box. We both noticed there was more effect with the truetones than the E-66's in the Fessy. There was a marked improvement in both guitars. The Emmons to me has a darker tone even with the lighter wound single coil pu's I just installed. With the black box it was just right with the stereo steel and JBL speakers.

Wayne's Emmons with the TT was about as clean a steel as I have heard, I liked it a lot. (He would not sell it though.)
Remember you can always "color" a clean pickup. A muddy pickup at best will just be a brighter version.

| To Jerry, my thanks as well. Your TT turned my Carter into the SG that I had hoped for. I was initially concerned about the small amount of hum but it was time wasted on a non-existing problem. It sounds amazing!!! |

When you get a chance try Brads black box with the TT pickup. You will be amazed it sounds soooo good. |

I put the truetones on my old pushpull because I wanted the original sound. I'll keep Bill Lawrence pickups on my Franklin and Carter. They both sound fine the way they are.
