I just got a dual pro D-6 and had a question regarding the age. Blonde, 22.5 scale, trapezoidal pickups, tweed case, fender logo on one side. It says '53 under the tuner pan but could be a 5 over a 6 although I doubt it's from the 60's. Does it indeed sound like a '53? Thanks, Ron

Without seeing a picture of it, it does indeed sound just like what you think it is.

Dating advice-

Always remember to be polite to her parents and never bring her back later than curfew. Before you establish a good rapport with her, you might wanna lay off the blonde jokes. She may be sensitive about that.

(Yeah, I know. I'm no help at all.)

Dual Pro wouldn't be from the 60's. I forget the last year they were made but it overlapped the Stringmaster briefly and then was gone (early/mid 50s). I'd ask about your s/n except that the date under my tuner pan was wiped out by drilled holes so my s/n, without a date, wouldn't shed any light.

You're certainly in the right ballpark when you say that Dual Pros were no longer made by the early/mid 1950s, Jon. According to Fender-guru Jody Carver in this thread, production of Dual Pros was discontinued in Fall 1954.
