Well,
I have been playing Pedal Steel for about 13 years now. All this time through a NV 400. I bought a Webb 6-14E and I can't belive why I didn't get one years ago.
It is the sound I have been looking for out of an amp for the longest time.
Please don't take this out of context: I still have and like my NV 400 amp. It has served me well. But the Webb is different and offers a tone that I didn't think possible.
Thanks to my friend Bobby Duncan for letting me check his out first hand. That is what really motivated me to make the purchase.
This amp has been anvil case kept, has the original owners manual, a remote reverb control that has NEVER been used or out of it's little pouch as I can tell.
In my music room...I can't really get it much about 1 or 1 1/2 on the volume. It has TONS of headroom.
Very good buy. Can't wait to play this weekend with it for the first time![This message was edited by Tim Harr on 19 July 2004 at 10:13 AM.] |

Congrats Tim, I think I saw that Webb that was posted on the Forum If I'm not mistaken were there (2) Webb's for sale and which one did you get? I bought my Webb about 4 months ago and I agree with you whole heartedly about the sound selection, remote reverb (one of my favorites) etc etc.. Great amp and it sure makes a pedal steel sound great.

I wish I had one. I've played through A Webb 6-14 and they are a Great Sounding Amp.
Maybe one of these days? |

I use a Carter with BL 705 pick ups. George L cable. I plug straight into the amp. I sometime use a delay pedal. I may also use the Transtubefex (Delay & Reverb) straight into the front of the Webb. Here are some recommended setting for a Webb 6-14E.
The Webb settings are as follows:
>sensitivity==10
>volume==4
>treble==2
>midrange==5
>bass==8
>reverb==4
>Tone selector switch in center position
>EQ on and controls for right side eq on 0.
My best,
Tommy White
This is a superior amplifer. I can't belive the sound it helps me produce. It is sweet!
