I busted a non-original neck switch while placing the guitar in the case.
I'm doubtful that the switch was installed in the original position. Can someone advise where the original switch was placed? I'd assume it's a SPDT toggle and not a rocker/butterfy switch.
Thanks in advance.

Howard,
My '73 Classic has it on the right of the back apron, about 6 inches from the edge of the endplate and about 1 1/2 inches down. It's a miniture SPDT.

If you want the original functionality of being able to have both necks on at the same time, the neck switch should be DPDT (Double Pole Double Throw) with center ON. I've seen these described as DPDT ON-ON-ON. The older MSA's used the miniature size switch. |

OK..
That clears it up fine. I had assumed the original was full sized.
I've got a replacement and will install today.
Thanks guys. |

Right you are Jim. I never have both necks on at the same time and forgot I had the center position. Senior moment.............. |
