Hey Everyone: Question?------------ Can an EL66 pickup be installed in a late model Sho-Bud Super Pro without any modifications to the guitar-such as drilling or milling? Thanks----------Eddie Malray

Eddie what is a EL-66?? Do you mean George-L E-66?? If so..then; the E-66 comes in a wide mount and narrow mount...and if it's a narrow mount, than it will fit...but if it's a wide mount, it WILL NOT; and you don't want to mill out the hole in that casing that much..ha.
But MY OPINION ONLY....>I hate the E-66 for any shobud...as it's completely the Wrong pickup to put in a shobud...>however I love it for an Emmons....
If you want a humbucker; I would highly suggest a Bill Lawrence 710(hot) or 910(not as hot) narrow mount or the best single coil pickup for shobud is Jerry Wallace's TrueTone pickup for the Shobud wound to 17,500 ohms.

Eddie, Try a George-L 10-1. They are closer to that Bud tone.

Thanks Ricky. Somehow I thought I might get a reply from you. I knew I had screwed up when I typed in EL66 but I figured if anyone knew they would know what I was talking about.--------Eddie

Eddie
I have a Super Pro with a BL710 on the E9th
and a 10-1 on the C6th at the store now. It's
mine and I was thinking of another 710 for the 6th neck. You are more than welcome to
come in and try it out.
