Topic: help with Seiko- quartz music tuner |

I asked this on another steel forum, but never got an answer.
I have a seiko- quartz tuner that was dropped off the top of a bass amp a few yrs ago. since then, it will not pick up an E note, or any other note from a piano.
it has,(I think),a small mic in it and I'm thinkin it must be broken. does anybody know about what it would cost to fix it, or would it be cheaper to just buy another tuner?
and what does a good, but not expensive,tuner cost nowdays? thanks

I think it must be a bass thing...an old bass player friend of mine borrowed my Seiko tuner and dropped it off of his amp too.
I have found some decent tuners on e-bay at good prices.....or if your wantin' to spend a little more, get the new Peterson tuner designed for steel. |

I think that they retail for about $325....and sell for around $260.

Terry, You might want to look at the Seiko ST767 chromatic tuner. They are currently $19.99 at Musicians Friend. I recently bought one am very pleased. I have several more tuners and they are more expensive, but this is the only tuner I'm currently using. I haven't seen one I like better and for the money they can't be beat.

Billy, I really liked my seiko tuner. I paid $70+ for it. thanks for the info. if I don't send this one back to get it fixed, I'll take a look at the one you suggested. I doubt i could send this one off and get it fixed for $20 though.
