I am new to steel guitars and also new to this forum. This is my first post. I just purchased my first pedal steel and I am running through my present guitar amp which is a Rivera Sadona. It is a combo amp for electric or acoustic guitar. It is very clean using a JBL M121-8 12" speaker. It is a tube amp that puts out 60 watts RMS. Is there a big difference in this type of amp than one that is voiced for steel guitar?

I've never played through one, but it should do a decent job for practice and small gigs. While probably not "voiced" for steel, it does have the requsite "mid" control and reverb, and tubes! Specs and features look pretty good, but I don't think you'll need that tweeter with a steel! (They do sound good on acoustic guitar, though.) Luckily, the tweeter can be switched off.

This is the Doyle Dykes model Rivera made for acoustic guitar that Doyle named for his favorite place on earth besides home, and that's Sedona Arizona.
