I recently had a Peavey Mod Kit installed in my Session 500 and it changed the tone so drastically that I can't find a sound anything close to what I was hoping to get. I actually liked the original tone much better, and am considering having it changes back. It sounds like I am using a compressor, no matter what settings I use.
Has anyone else had this kit installed in a 500, and if so, what setting are you using?

| Johnny, I installed the LeMay mod in my 500 and it made a super amp into a monster amp. I like mod sound so much better. Full bass some treble and presence and not much mid. The built in compressor light is on full time but notice no breathing. They are wonderful amps serving two purposes, incredible sound and built in weight machine. |

Johnny: I have the 500 w/BW Speaker & Lemay
Mod. I'm using the Following settings:
Pre 4 Low+15 Para -3 800 high -5 Pres.+5
Gain 3 1/2 Rev Between 5 & 7.
Note: Some times I change the para settings
from -3 to +2 As I have a Fessy & Derby I play threw the 500. This gets me in the ball
park. And I use a DD3 |

| It is real easy to mix up the small caps and end up with some strange sounds! I downloaded a page to help me with capacitor codes, making it easy to identify those little guys! |

Yes, I was lucky, I had a B&K capacitor checker to use when I mod'd my NV400. The little ones can be hard to read and interpret. Also, some caps look like little 1/8th watt resistors, and that ain't fair. This mod is not foolproof in that package size doesn't correspond to capacitor size.

Autry, I'll try your's tomorrow, have to replace a string on my steel.
Mike, I'll give you a call on Monday. I had an amp tech in Austin install the kit for me. Thanks for the offer to help me out.
