I recently bought a used VS-1824CD. I have the owners manual, but it leaves something to be desired as far as a simplified user's approach to start recording. I am a player, not a sound engineer. I have moved up fro a Fostex 380S cassette machine.
Does anyone know of a video, or user's guide (VS-1824CD for dummies)available? Roland's Web site is pretty miserable. Good products and crappy website.
Thanks,
Lefty

Lefty, I have the VS2480. The manual sucks so don't feel bad. One of the reasons I bought the 2480, was the great info and help I get from the "VS Planet". Go to www.vsplanet.com and register. Go to forums. There you will find help for every VS made: 880, 1680, 1880, 2480. Also general recording help. Probably every subject you have a question on has been discussed before, so the search function usually pulls up all your answers. Good luck!

Lefty,
I have a VS-1824CD myself so I may be able to help some. I agree that the VS-Planet is an excellent place to go for answers. I was told that there's a VS-1880 video manual (none for the 1824) and I ordered one over the phone from Guitar Center, but the one they sent me was for the 1680. Still, most functions are similar and the 1680 video manual will tell you a little if you can't get an one for the 1880.
I'll be glad to answer any specific questions if I can.
Regards,
Rick

Thanks Chris and Rick.
I have read several feedbacks including directions to brew a large pot of coffee, and sit down with the users manual for four hours. Obviously software guys write these manuals. I appreciate both of your help. I hate to seem dumb on this subject, but I can see patience is in order.
I will research the web site. Thanks Rick for your offer to help. I might need it.
