Reasonably priced headphones?

I am thinking of getting a Korg Pandora PX 4.

Headphones on Zzounds.com go from an AKG at $30 all the way up. Lots around 80 - 100./

Can you recommend some 'phones that will do the job with the PX 4 but not bankrupt me?

Chris, I have the PX2 and find that it does not have sufficient volume of its own, so I'd look for powered headphones to give it a volume boost. Of course your model might be different...

I got the new Pandora PX-4 specifically to use as a practice device, and it definitely has enough volume to drive my headphones, but I'm using Sony MDR-7506 phones (about $100), I think they're fairly common studio headphones. While most of the presets are overdriven, there is a decent sound to be gotten right out of the box with the program called "PASS". I haven't done much tweaking yet, but I really like the RHYTHM mode: there are a lot of rhythm patterns to choose from to practice to, and also you can have bass playing along on the loop in any key. In addition the unit has a Phrase Trainer that allows you to record a phrase and play it back at any speed, and if you start and stop it just right you can keep it in time and it will loop without breaking meter.

Yes, the practice capabilities of the PX 4 are just the thing I am contemplating. I'll check out those 'phones.

I'll second that on the Sony 7506. Great headphones for studio use. DJ's love them. They sound real good, get real loud, are hard to blow, have good isolation, and they fold up nicely.

I love these headphones too. You won't find anything better, however, I have had trouble with the ear pads on these. Look inside the pad and you will see the line that goes completely around. This is where they pull apart, and I'm not rough with my stuff!! This is my second time I've replaced the pad which you can order from Sony but it will be the last!! Too damn expensive!! Otherwise great sounding and as comfortable as it gets!! Just to let you know. Loren.

Gary and Brad are right on it with the Sony. They have better gain than some of the others and have used them for years and at a hundred bucks, a super value.

If I am not mistaken I read a thread sometime back where someone recommended a brand called KOSS. I think they said at Radio Shack. Supposed to be as good as ones costing 100 or better. Do a search on the name and you can find it probably.
