Chuck:
The only change I would suggest is put the A6 tuning on the front neck and the E13 tuning on the rear neck. You'll end up playing the A6/C6 tuning far more often than the E13 when you find out how much fun it is.

Chuck-you can't do any better than the tunings mentioned. Here is a couple that i had on my D8 , copying Alvino Rey. Back around 1939.

Top neck E7-E9-G#min6-Ddim.
E13 if you drop the 2nd string D to C#

E
D
B
G#
F#
D
B
G#

Bottom-your choice-A6-C6 or I used E6 so the bar positions are the same on both necks.

E
C#
B
G#
E
C#
B
G#-- OR A for A Maj7th bottom

I played many years and lots of jobs with lots of bands with this setup back in the old days. A picture of me playing that guitar , a Vega Birdseye Maple D8, with a big band is on my website......al
