H & K Rotosphere

I know this subject has been didcussed before but I just want to comment on the H & K Rotosphere. I recently picked up a unit after reading the positive reviews on this forum and elsewhere. You probably are aware by now that I play strictly gospel music using chordal melody. For my application, the unit is amazing. I found a two button Peavey remote switch that works with the unit so I can tap it in or out as I choose. I play part of a gospel song with the straight pedal steel sound and then engage the Rotosphere for a Leslie organ effect for a chorus or so. It really adds variety to my playing. I can't do the speed licks like Herby or Doug so I had to come up with something!

To me, the most amazing thing about the RotoSphere is how good it sounds in mono. On small gigs, I hook it up in the effects loop of my little Boogie.

The Rotosphere is so much more than the "auto pan" rotary effect that you get out of most effect units. It simulates two rotors at different speeds, like a real Leslie, plus the tonal characteristics of those big wooden Leslie cabinets. Sometimes I leave it on with the rotors stopped just to get that big bass boost.

I hooked mine into the effects loop on my rack unit. It is a stereo loop so the Rotosphere tapped right in there with both channels. I think it sounds awesome! Especially on the old gospel songs that you are used to hearing done with an organ.
