Just curious about how many forumites own a JB Frypan and how they were obtained. I've been told that Jerry had a list of the original owners of all he sold. Mine is a 24" scale with serial number A-034 and was originally signed by Jerry to its original owner. I wrote Mr. Byrd after I bought mine and he was very kind in writing back. I have the letter stored until I can get it framed. I bought mine off ebay for under a thousand and consider it an investment. It has a scratchy volume pot that I haven't touched til I get some expert advice.

I have an Excel Frypan that I purchased from Scotty about 10 years ago. I recently put an Aiello/Lollar real horseshoe pickup in it...and it is one more axe.

I got one but no mention of Jerry Byrd on it as it's a 'Shot Jackson' model. Don Davis had it originally.....he used to play with George Morgan for those many early years.

AO-32 purchased direct from, and autographed by Jerry. Also the 10 string ShoBud (same body, better p/u and better tuning gears) ... Strings are much too close together for my liking. But better than the latter frypans, an old original Ric 6 string is my old sweetie.

I've got one, #A120, bought it from a nice gentleman here on the forum. I'm thinking about putting a new Horseshoe pickup in it.

I've got one that I purchased from a fellow in New York about 10 years ago. He was the original owner and he bought it from Scotty. It came with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Jerry Byrd and Shot Jackson. It is an 8 string, long scale.
