Anyone ever used Rode NT-1 microphones? I found 4 of these condensor mics, like new, for $600.00, mics only.

Hi Reggie, You could buy 4 new ones for $800. They sound good. There are some tremendous deals right now, especially on Marshall Mx mics. You can get a large capsule vocal mic and a small capsule instrument mic as a package deal for $179. Sam Ash Music in New York has the best deals

Yup, lotsa great deals on good mics these days. I am a big CAD fan, but I have heard some great results from Rhode. My understanding, is that they use chinese made capsules(like most of the new crop of reasonable priced condensors) but the assemble them and do quality control in Australia.

One word on mics for vocals. I spent the last 2 years only using LD condensors for my vocals, then my main vocal mic went down and I started tracking w/ a SM58 just to lay some scratch vocals down. And surprise! I love the results from the dynamic mic just as much as the LD condensor. Weird eh?

The moral of this story? The experts and their "rules" arent always right. Experimentation can yeild great results!!
