I just want to say that I believe Peavey to be one of the best customer oriented companies around. I sent them my Profex II for a battery changeout. I had previously purchased the battery and had planned to change it out myself. I soon realized that I could damage the circuits if I made the wrong move with my soldering iron. Decided to send to Peavey. I received the repaired unit from them and was pleased to see the care they took in packaging the item for shipment. I reinstalled it in my rack mount and was happy to find that all my presets were still there and operational. The cost for the repair was more than reasonable. Thanks to the Peavey folks for your attention to customer needs.

Moved to 'Electronics', because Peavey doesn't make pedal steels.

Thank you very much for your comments and support of Peavey products. Unlike a lot of other companies, we still "pick up the phone" and you hear a real human being answer. With your continued support we will continue to use this system. A lot of other companies have chosen to use a pre-recorded message system and this can be a very unpleasing experience.

Our Service Department employs over 25 people that handle anything from your parts orders, assisting in the repair of your Peavey product, warranty questions and hookup/operating questions. Almost all of our phone personnel have worked here for 20 years or more each, so we feel that we can accommodate your electronic needs and answer your questions. We also have 10 very experienced bench technicians that can repair Peavey products that date as far back as 1970. But, some components are obsolete on those older models, so it is a good idea to check with our Repair Assistance line before sending your older amp to us for repair.

You may contact me toll free in the U.S. at 1-877-732-8391. I'll be on Christmas vacation starting December 28th through January 6th, 2003. However, our Customer Service Division is staffed by qualified personnel who can assist you through the holidays and they will answer this line during my absence. Our offices will be closed December 31st and January 1st.

We look forward to working with you in 2003!

Just to play "devil's advocate" for a moment,
has anybody had any dealings w/ other mfg's.
(e.g.,Alesis,Lexicon,Ibanez,etc.) w/ negative customer service results? Please expound. I, for one,(& this has nothng to do w/ music, but to be used, merely,as an example) will NOT buy another Canon product. It seems, when you want "out of warantee" tech help over the phone, they want to charge $25 to your credit card.
Sorry,no way José!!

I will add my praise for Mike Brown and the other good folks with whom I have had dealings at Peavey. They really take care of their customers.

I have a vintage Jazz Classic 400 and a 2 year old Nashville 1000. Great company, great amps, and customer service second to none.

Their phone support is awesome! Their parts department is also a joy to work with. I have also used their forum support for electronic repair help. Those guys walked me right thru my problem on an old Session 400! When they got through with me, I understood how the circuit worked! That's the kind of service you get at Peavey. There is none like it anywhere, period! I have tried many others and never had this kind of service.

peavey service and parts dept. HAS to be the best, and they gave me FREE shipping! I talked to a guy in parts, and he said hold while I ask a tech, comes back and says "ok, I've got the part you want, sending it out today", I got it and the invoice said "RUSH", I never even said I needed it that fast, my amp is working great

Hey Smiley......

I had a "DOD" rack-mounted power-amp.
When I contacted them to request(offered to pay for the material) prints and service material for it, they told me that everybody else but them are stupid and dosen't have any need to delve into the innards of their stuff !!

Needless to say, I got rid of the unit and haven't purchased any of their products sence !!

I don't understand why the Mfg's feel that everyone else in the world is stupid and no one else other than them have a "Degree" of some sort in Electronics.

I recently had a outfit to attempt to "snowball" me with a Computer problem. After I caught and proved to him several lies,he still refuse to accept back the defective device. I then stoped payment on the check, keep the device(beings that they refused to accept it back),and advise them that I had repaired the unit.

I hate deceptive vendors !!!!

As always, we appreciate your support of our products. We still design and manufacture products here in the United States(which means a lot to me personally), while some of our competitors choose to use offshore third party companies. Granted, we do offer lower cost Peavey designed products that are manufactured to our specs overseas, but we do this in order to remain competitive with our pricing.

From what I am hearing here on the Forum, factory support means alot to you. Just curious, what percentage does factory support play when you purchase a musical instrument?

Hey Guys, When I buy, I want bang for my buck, and Peavey has the bang, and the serv. and support is what one should expect, I have a peavey sound board, SP2's, Nash 400, and a profex II, all of which have been great gear. Mike is a credit to the company and all of the steel family. What other product could you through your problem here and get a reply in a day, or pick up the phone and talk to a real person/ tech. about a problem.
Thanks Mike,
Wayne

I too own only Peavey PA equipment and have for the last 20 years. Peavey produces the sound, is rugged, dependable, and most of all.....affordable. I have one Peavey 6 string electric guitar, two Peavey Nashville 400's, A Peavey Encore 65 guitar amp, A Peavey Transtube S112 guitar amp, and other assorted Peavey accessories (Profex II, power amps, effects units, EQ's, etc.). The equipment is extremely dependable. Thanks to the Peavey guys for listening to musicians when designing your products.
