What ever became of the Emmons Guitar Co. amp, must have been introduced around 1993 or so? They were asking $$$$ for it.

No one bought them. They stopped making them. You still see them for sale from time to time here, but frankly, the only thing I've ever heard good about them was if someone was trying to either sell one, or set up a sale later and do a little positive spin to pave the way. Really, they appeared to be a well designed and constructed amp.

The TSGA convention about seven years ago had an entire back wall of these on stage as Norris Family Music was a dealer and was pushing them. I didn't hear a single positive comment about them over the entire convention.

Really seems kind of odd though. The concept
was good, the designer and manufacturer (Tubeworks) certainly knew what they were doing. I'm sure there is an insider type story that can explain their commercial demise. Bottom line, they didn't sell enough to continue production.

God Bless
Steve

Thanks Steve, I wondered if they were still in production and how they'd gone over with steelers. Seems like I played thru one once in St. Louis, but didn't hear any magic(not that anyone does when I play) , to justify the price.

I have one of these amps. It is totally different in sound from the Nashville 400 type amp but it does have a vibe all its own.

It does have plenty of power and is somewhat larger in size than the Nashville 400.

I would imagine that for one thing the one I listened to in the Emmons room had been tweaked by just about every person who sat down to play. Too bad it didn't pan out for the company.

Do these use the MOSFET approach? Just curious.
