Similar to, but not as valuable as an old D-130, and not quite as rugged as an E or K-130, this is the "component" version of the old D-130 15" speaker. Cast frame, aluminum dust cap, and a nice tone, though I'm not sure that they used an Alnico magnet in this one. (Not very efficient, though, by today's standards.) As with all old JBL's, they work best at low-to-moderate power levels, and in reflex cabinets.

As long as you don't try to push them too hard in an open-back cabinet, they'll do a fine job. Reconed, they're worth $100-$125.

I have a 1959 Standel 80L15 with an M30 in it. Sounds pretty good.

My Evans Hybrid 300 amp came with an M30--it sounds amazing (when it works)...
