I was thinking last night about how so many of you are totally devoted to Solid Satate(Peavey) or Tubes(Fender Twin). Does anyone out there in PSG land try to get the best of both worlds by splitting your signal between the 2? I know it would be a pain to haul 2 amps, but the "tone quest" does not come for free.

Yes; I've played a Nashville 400 and Fender Twin together......awesome sound. Also a ShoBud Christmas Tree amp(solid state) and a Fender Deluxe together.....awesome sound.
Also a Session 400 and a Fender Vibrolux....awesome sound....
And a LTD and Fender Pro together...and again....awesome sound.
So you can't go wrong with any combo....pretty killer stuff.

There was a time when I was playing an Emmons P/P through a Nashville 400 and an old Fender Vibrosonic (basically a twin with a 15" JBL). The signal to the Fender had just a touch of chorus added. I got a great sound with that combo.

Best tone I ever got was a Session 400 with a 1501-4 SB speakers and my 1966 Deluxe (non-reverb model with a D120F). I like two different amps for both guitar and steel.

I've got a Fender Vibrasonic and a Webb setup right here now next to me. I run a DD-3 through the Webb and it sounds teriffic.

Evans and either a Standel or Fender Pro does it for me.
