Has anyone had any experience with this pedal. Saw the pedal in St.Louis just wondering if anyone has played it.
Thanks |

I have been using a Goodrich light pedal for over 20 years without a single failure of any kind. Perhaps I am just lucky but I just love mine for sure. |

I've got an older Goodrich volume pedal; It's called a Dual Photocell Model 400A. I use it as a backup and it sounds nice. It's kind of 'taper-challenged' next to a more modern volume pedal and doesn't have a great 'off characteristic', if you need the signal to be completely off but it changes the sound of my steel in a way that I like. For example, if I were doing a western swing track, this pedal would give me a more authentic sound so it's worth having around in my arsenal of gizmos. I think it rolls off a bit of high end and accentuates the mids somewhat.
I'm not sure if this is the pedal you want to know about but there it is...

I'm pretty sure Chuck is asking about the new Goodrich pedal, model CD-2, I think. |

I've got an old (original?) one. Killed the highs so bad I never used it.

I have an older Goodrich photocell pedal as well. I bought it in 1975 and 2 weeks ago I finally changed one of the two little lightbulbs in it ($1.29). I have used it extensively and compared it to all the pedals now out there including the Hilton pedal and found that the difference was so subtle that I considered it to be negligible. Ollie did tell me one time that if they lasted for more than a year then they would last forever and it appears to me that he's right.
Bob Metzger- the throw is adjustable and it can be easily set to go totally off by adjusting the position of the spring wire (sliding it back or forth after loosening the hold down screw)that slides the black plastic plate up and down. Plese let me know if you need some help~~ Jim |

I used to have a Goodrich photo cell volume pedal with a built in wah-wah as well. There was a push button switch at the full-on position to switch from one to the other and a knob on the side to set the volume of the wah.
I don't remember what I did with it, but probably sold it as I can't find it. Does anyone remember those? |

I still use the old Goodrich Volume / Wah pedal. At STL they said they hadn't made it for over 20 years. I have yet to replace a lightbulb.
FWIW: I ran this to an old 66 ProReverb Fender Blackface with 2 prong ungrounded electrical plug and I was getting "bit" so I doubt That this unit would meet modern saftey codes.
Just an observation, but the New Goodrich CD2 lightpedal looked much more mechanically complex than the Hilton. I don't see that as a good thing.[This message was edited by Larry Beck on 15 September 2002 at 08:53 AM.] |

Thanks Jim, for your kind offer of help.
I'll revisit it one of these days and see if that helps me. As it's my backup, it kinda sits around alot and doesn't get much use. I pull it out once in a while. I'll contact you if I get stuck.
