I'd like to modify a Goodrich pedal to accept two inputs that could be A-B by stepping all the way down and clicking a double throw pushbutton switch that would choose one input or the other.
They would both have the same, single output jack.
Since the Goodrich is already configured with three jacks, I thought I could get them
to customize one for me but no.
So my question is, has anyone done this before, or does anyone know of someone who will do this kind of work?

Tony:
Instead of fooling around with your foot volume pedal, I'd buy a Boss LS-2 stomp box.
This unit lets you A-B with all kinds of combinations. Just A-B it before you get to the volume pedal. The unit goes for about $79.99 over the internet.

That is a pretty cool idea Tony.

Erv, I already use an A-B box but my particular reason for the all-in-one pedal is to switch between IVL midi steel and regular steel quickly and without all the extra wires.
BUT! as you can figure out, there are other useful applications, such as doubling on guitar or dobro without all the extra box and wires.

I have made small project boxes in the past that clip on the leg of the steel guitar for friends who play both steel and lead guitar. If you have (3) 1/4" jacks and (1) single throw (on–on) mini toggle switch all you have to do is designate two of them to the toggle switch and then to the other jack as an output. Then when you flip the toggle, you switch from steel (in) to lead (in)! The out jack goes to your Vol. Pedal, A very simple project! P.S. It must be simple, because I know nothing about electronics, but; this really doesn't involve electronics, I just followed my big nose! Thanks. "Big John" I'll make a box for you if you E-Mail me. Tony--what you suggest would be a pretty simple conversion---just some internal rewiring to reassign the three jacks on the pedal......but.......the actual physical mounting of the switch would require some good engineering. It would need to be very solidly mounted and very accurately positioned to fully click on/off without impeding pedal travel. This wouldn't be easy.

I too made a clip on box to accomplish this. I played keyboards and steel and needed to switch between them to use the same volume pedal. Beware of the switch in the volume pedal method. With the volume pedal fully on, you may get the (very) loud click (pop) of the switch going through your amp. I tried something similar to this years ago and could never get past that problem.
