Wayne,

I`m not Mike but I thought I chime in.

I have a S2000 and there`s no hum in it.

It`ll take a little time to learn how to dial in the amp. There`s so many different options in it that it`ll take some time to get use to.

I think the reason Peavey discontinued the amp was that one of their suppliers couldn`t deliver a part for it.

I have used the S2000 for a couple of months and have barely touched the surface of what it can do.

At a some gigs I had very good sound with the S2000.

Mike stated that there`s only about 150 made of this amp.

Hopes this helps some.

Dag

The explanation from Dag is correct and is appreciated. The only "hum" that I have encountered is when using RC2000 remote midi controller without the pads that are included. Due to the enormous programming capabilities of the Session 2000, it is possible to "create" increased noise levels, however "hum" symptoms are usually due to other problems.

Use to have that problem, but when I finally insulated the RC2000 from my steel, the problem went away and the amp is great.
