Can someone 'splain me the difference? I've been lookin' for some JBL E-120's for a PA system. Are D-120's comparable, or not?
thx.

D-120's are the 50 year-old design Alnico units (totally wasted in P.A. applications, but wonderful for guitars). The E series have modern (bigger) ceramic magnets and heavier cones and voice coils. Reliability and power handling capability goes up, but that "sweet old sound" is gone. The "E" is a good choice for vocal/P.A. applications.
