I recently returned an RV-3 unit for exchange. It made sounds like ocean waves washing against the shoreline (very soothing). Anyone else experiencing problems with their RV-3 unit? |

I find it makes all kinds of wierd noises when it's complaining that it wants a new battery. Other than that, no problems with mine. |

Kevin, I recently got a brand new one that wouldn't work at all when hooked up between the amp and the vol pedal. I sent it back and got another that worked fine, but dont like it. I went back to straight steel and amp.

The experience I had with the RV-3 was that it sounded too "digital" for me. I went with the Alesis Nanoverb for my small reverb unit. But the Nanoverb is not a stomp box, if you need that instant on-off capability.

Maybe the sound is not digital enough. |

I only use the Boss Power supply with mine, never batteries. Never had a problem.
I only use Delay now, no reverb. |

The Boss PSA-120 is the power supply to use with the RV-3. Boss also make an older PSA-100 that is not recommended for digital units or when daisy chaining mukltiple effects.

Did I read on the Forum a few months ago that LLoyd Green was using an RV 3?
If memory serves me correctly, his settings were also included.( This was posted by someone other than LLoyd.)
I always have thought of LLoyd as a purist who used no effects other than some reverb from his amp. If LLoyd can live with it I guess I can.
I am happy with my RV-3 and have not had any of the problems mentioned above.[This message was edited by louie hallford on 01 July 2002 at 09:47 AM.] |

Like Joey, I use the Boss power supply. No problems at all. Constantly having musicians telling me the tone/reverb/delay is excellent. |

I'm wondering. I've been using one of the older PS-120's at 200 MA. The instructions say that its acceptable as long as there isn't a more than 200 MA draw. The Instructions also specify a 70MA power supply. What do you guys think? |

Anything digital seems to be funny acting when the voltage isn't right. I have had two different pedals that would go nuts when the batteries went low. So I just went ahead and got wall warts for them and cured the problem. A friend of mine had the same problem with his Peavey digital power amp, I forget the model it was. We were playing an outside gig and running everything off of a half a city block of extension cord. You guys know the gig. He couldn't get enough voltage and the power amp made his guitar sound like he was working with Van Halen.
