Topic: Just recorded with new Classic 50/212 |

It arrived just in time too. recorded onto two tracks. One with amp miced, the other straight into the board. The sound from the '72 flatback p/p thru the 50/212 was absolutely terrific. Straight in (dry) was comparetively mighty crappy indeed. fx might have masked that but why start with crappy sound? The new classic 50 was also a pleasure in the studio because it is soooo quiet, even with the pressure cooled fan running  . engineer loved it. Very happy with this amp and Dr. Seymoure cut me a much better deal than my local outlets. NOTHING is heavier than a sf twin, except maybe the Titanic. According to Peavey, it's 59 pounds, so that's about 30 or 40 lbs less than the twin.
Great sounding amp by the way, good "bang for the buck". |

| Glen, I'm going to work on the MP3 thing. Never done them before and dont know how or whats needed to do them. Im open to any quicky enlightment courses on it. As far as weight...it's not bad at all at 59lbs. I suppose if you were to swap out the blue marvels for something heftier that could change but I see no need to modify anything thus far. Havent had much time with the amp though or put it through any more demanding tests than a small studio. |
