Those of you who own a Session 500 what settings are you using and also what effects are you hooking it up with. I have both the Boss RV3 & DD-3. I also use a Lexicon 100 rack mounted unit.

Yeah, I would like those also. I had them many years ago when Jeff Newman posted them in a newsletter. I am pretty sure that the settings were the same as Buddy Emmons. I have long since lost this newsletter. Does anybody have them in back files somewhere? |

I wasn't aware Buddy ever played through a Session 5. During those years I recall his using a Vegas when I saw him.
Nevertheless, try Bass on 3 o'clock; Treble on 9 o'clock; Presence slightly higher than Treble; Shift on about 800 and Mid slightly cut. That should be a good starting point for a relatively bright guitar (Emmons, Zum, etc.) through most any Peavey amp. It depends on so many factors -- guitar, acoustics of the room (carpet, ceiling height, etc.) vol pedal, outboard effects, your personal preference, etc. -- it's difficult to dial it in from the numbers. Your ears are the key to making any amp sound good.
Hope this helps some.

Larry;
Buddy and Phil Baugh both played thru them when they first came out. I don't know for how long. I saw them at a Peavey sound show in Nashville in '81 and they were playing thru them at that time.
Phil was really into the built in phase shifter, (which did work very well.) Check out Phil's intro to the Jones/Paycheck version of "Maybellene" and Jones' "Bartender's Blues". as far as I know it was a Session 500 with the p/s on both.
Also, I think Buddy used a Session 500 with the phase shifter to record "You Are So Beautiful".
As far as settings, it's been too many years for me to remember... Yours sound familiar though.

Ernie
