This may be old hat to some of you guys but I just got the unit and I wonder if you could tell me some of your favorite settings. The best sounding setting that I use is ( from left to right) 8 clock 11:30 12:30 and #7. Someone said that LLoyd uses a simular setting.

Balance 8;00 ---- tone10:00-----R. time 2:00-----Mode on # 7
These are the settings I offered Lloyd Green when he bought the RV-3 a couple years ago. It is my favorite setting and I think he feels the same. Any other questions, let me know. Next time buy it from ME!! (just kidding)

I bought MY RV3 from BobbeSeymour. Therefore...(ahem). I am a beginner and the RV3 makes some of my stuff sound like a pro.

My favorite settings are right in there. When I record in my home studio I plug the guitar into the RV3 and straight into the recorder.
I find that 7 is too much reverb, and I back it down to 4 or 5.

Bobbe,

I play through a ShoBud amp w/15 in speaker and a wire reverb. Is it prudent to use a little amp reverb along with the RV3's reverb?

Hap,
I have a Sho~Bud 1-15 also, I run my RV-3 on mode #2 for delay only and use amp reverb. The settings are about the same as mentioned above, you can tweak them to taste.

Hap, I don't , but Bob Knight does, I turn the reverb totally off on the amp and only use the RV-3. Like you can see, if you have a great reverb in your amp you like, use it too! If you always use only the RV-3 ecco, you might as well buy only an ecco unit. The advantage of the RV-3 is , you have both!! At one time, in one unit, small, great sounding, and a five year warrenty,AND it helps your tone!!! What a deal! It doesn't hum, hiss,or do bad things to your dog. It is a great unit and I give a hundred $$ off retail, Now, why doesn't everyone have one?

By the way Hap, I really have to admire your taste in amps, I use Two Sho-Bud amps on most jobs. I love that very rich , warm, fat, tone, I even record with them when I can. I use Peavey when I need to blow down doors though. Peavey is very powerful, with a "acceptable" tone under adverse working conditions,(rock and roll, blues, punk rock, punk gospel,Tempory Christian,Rap, etc.) When the last ounce of tone is required, Sho-Bud amps really do the trick! Thirty years old or not!! My amps are older than my last three wives!! (so is my guitar)(and everything else).

I don't even know what an RV3 is, but I assume it's not a 'Steel Player'. I'm moving this topic to 'Electronics'.

I too use two old ShoBud single channel amps . .. have used the RV3, but generally still use the Qverb GT with 'em. Still do use the Webb 6-14E when tone is the ultimate need.

Could someone please try to describe what these RV3 settings accomplish?

Reverb: Big Hall, Small Hall?

Delay: One or Multiple Repeats? Long, Short?

I know it's tough, but would someone please try?

Thanks!
