If everyone keeps their shift a 800 on a nashville 400 what would that equate to on an ltd 400 in a clock setting??

I can't answer your specific question. I use a Session 400 from that vintage (late 70s) and I can tell you how I set it, but have no clue what the actual sweep range for the shift control is. Perhaps Mike Brown knows.
Whenever I eq any Peavey amp I usually start with all tone knobs at 12 o'clock. The bass usually ends up a bit above that and the treble a bit below. This is highly dependent on the ROOM and the GUITAR, so my numbers wouldn't do you much good. But I'd be willing to bet that 800 is somewhere near 12 o'clock. Once you have treble and bass set, listen carefully for what's missing or what's up too far -- does it need high mids? too muddy in the low mids? That's where you use the shift to home in on where and the mid control to increase or decrease at the frequency you homed in on. Make the changes small -- 1 or 2 notches can make a big difference.
Hope this helps some. I have never had any luck trying to eq an amp 'by the numbers'. The numbers are only good for one room, one guitar, and they change depending on how many people are in the room. Learn to HEAR your eq.

I did a blind experiment comparing my 74 session 400 settings to a Nashville 400. I ended up with the knobs nearly identical in o'clock settings. The shift ended up around noon to 1 o'clock. I think the 800 is around 1 o'clock? Mid control usually around 8 or 9 o'clock.

Jim , I have a 1976 session 400 and the shift knob is calibrated 1 thru 10..Its setting beside a Nashville 1000 and I switch between the two...
The knob positions wide up the same with the 1000 at 800hz and the 400 at 1 -2 o'clock..
