EQ Stomp Box

I have a little Fender Princeton 65 (new) that I use for practice. It is a great sounding little amp, but it just doesn't have enough bottom end. I picked up a 5-band eq stomp box that works like a charm. By using the 150Hz and 500Hz controls I can really warm up the sound. In fact I'm really impressed with both the tone and the volume I can get out of this little bitty amp.

The only problem I have is the fact that all of my 9-volt "wall warts" cause a bad hum. My best one is rated at 850mA and is supposedly regulated.

I'm wondering what kind of battery life I can expect. I know that any of the digital delays and chorus units I've had eat up batteries pretty fast. I've never had one of these little eq units. Does anyone out there have any experience in running one on a battery?

Find an old MXR 6-band EQ. They take 9 volt batteries, but they last a very long time. I have used one for about 20 years or so. They work great!

Lee, you might try a 9-volt lithium battery from Radio Shack (about $7). Lasts longer than regular alkaline...or try another wall-wart. Not all wall-warts are equal.
