Hoping for some advice here...

I've received a set of Fender tilt-back legs that I want to mount on a speaker cabinet. I have spent some time holding the cab baack at the angle I want and sighting the position of a leg on one side. My thought is to mark and drill by sight on one side, then measure and drill for the opposite side. Are there other means of accomplishing this that might be more simple, more accurate?

Any experience and wisdom appreciated, TIA.

You can buy a framing square fairly cheaply and that should do the trick.

Cliff, since you're only making 2 holes on each side of the cabinet, your method should work fine!

I got a question for you Cliff..Where did you get the Fender legs?? I think they were a great ideal and way to tilt your amp without having to find a chair etc..They are a lot handier than an amp stand..I would like to add some on my Peavey'S

Smart Parts in Chicago sells just about anything you can imagine for old Fender amps. They have all the different sizes of tilt legs. Their email address is:

The best place to get Fender parts is from Fender. The legs take 4 holes..2 for legs, 2 for stops.

Home Depot sells platic templates for mounting knobs and hinges on cabinets. They sell several configurations. You can buy them for about $3. After determining the tilt angle, you can then use the template to mark both sides of the amp with accuracy.
