I am using an Evans preamp and would like to know how to hook the Profex up as just an effects unit (no preamp). I know I need to disable the eq in the effects. |

Richard,
I'll be glad to walk you through the process if you can have your Profex II in front of you when you call. I can be reached at 1-877-732-8391(toll free).
Thanks for using Peavey products. |

I use it for Delay and Chorus only, sometimes, w/several different Delay settings. I zeroed out all of the EQ settings.... |

Jerry, I too would like to know how to disable just the preamp portion of the profex and still be able to use the effects.

If I remember correctly, you can't remove an EQ from a patch. But if you zero it out (or flatline) the eq, if will render it useless, effectly removing it. I have done this, running to a N'ville (W/LeMay Mod) and there is no difference in sound when comparing with or w/o Profex........ |

Ben, I pulled up the setting I wanted to use in this way. Hit edit button, place curser under the EQ, hit add/delete button and EQ is gone leaving only effects. Now for each effect you edit the output of the effect mix from the usual 100% to 30% or so. Then you edit the + after the effect from the output or mix it shows to 100%. The idea is to switch output values on the effect and the + which follows it. The last effect in the chain has no + but you place the curser after the last effect and you will find a value there also, change it to 100%. I did this very briefly so email me if you have a question. Do this for each setting you wish to use in this mannner. I run a cord from each output of the Profex II to the two inputs on the combo amp or rack amp whichever I am using.

I would like to give credit where it is due. Bob Hempker shared this information with me about 5 years ago and it has worked great for me. I have used many other effect units which were much more expensive and keep coming back to the Profex II set up just like this.

How about the input and output gain? Full on both or like what you`ve been using with the EQ?
My input gain are about 2 o`clock and full on the output.
