I just bought a new Nashville 1000. When I play my steel (Emmons D-10 PP) I get a loud hum and have to crank the volume way up. The amp works fine with a guitar and seems fine without the petal plugged in. With the petal, it is muddy and not clear at all. Can anyone help?? Also, if I need a new petal and/or volume petal pot, does anyone know how I can get one from the Emmons Company? Thanks

Check your cables. If it works fine direct, going through the volume pedal adds another cable and that cable could be the problem.

Muddy sound? Try reversing the 2 plugs that go into the volume pedal. Buzzing? Like Jack said...that's probably just a bad cord.

Sounds to me like you might be using a speaker cord instead of a shielded guitar cable for one of your cords. Just a thought.
