I have been in the market for a twin or dual professional, but a vibrosonic reverb with the JBL D130F, is on Ebay for $450, no reserve. I'm sure this amp sounds great for steel, but how about 6-string? Also, is $450 about right, price-wise?
Thanks

I'd snap that bad boy right up at (or near) that price! |

Great amp. Great price. IMHO, those old Vibrosonic Reverbs sound better than Twin Reverbs, whether you're running a steel or a regular guitar into it.

Buy that amp if you can Tyler. Most amp gurus would tell you it's worth that kind of money even if it needs minor repairs.

Basically the "Twin-Reverb" with one 15" speaker. Sounds good to me! |

Turns out I found a '69 twin w/ original JBL D-120f grey frame speakers. The amp has been blackfaced and recapped recently. I have yet to hear the amp, but I'm quite excited- it sould be better for 6-string than the vibrosonic, but just as good for steel. I also got a great deal!

Yes the Vibro is still available on Ebay. At the time of writing this there is 1 day, 24 min left on the auction, which is currently at $449.99, with only one bid. Just do a search for "vibrosonic", and it'll come right up. Looks like a great amp.'

Tyler,
I had a Vibrosonic reverb amp like the one on E-Bay in the early 80's. I traded a non-master volume silver face twin reverb for it. It had I believe around 100-110 watts with a master volume. I took the stock speaker out and put a EVM 15L in it. It was a really good amp. I regret trading it, but I traded it in on my session 500. With a good JBL or EVM speaker and good tubes and biasing it will make a great steel amp. Some perfer a true solid state session 400 or 500, but there is something to be said for a good tube Fender.
