Hi
I have been working with my Session
2000 and saving the presets to disk on my
computer as a backup. My question- is anyone swapping these with email etc?
This is much easier than entering them manually. These are small data files and can
be attached to an email quite easily. It would be interesting to see and try the different presets.
Thanks

I think that's a great idea, but you wouldn't have to just limit it to Session 2000's! You can use it on just about anything!

Assuming they're Sysex (.syx) files, they are unique and proprietary to each processor. In other words, the file from a 2000 wouldn't work on a Boss GX-700 or even on a ProFex II.
I'm not too familiar with Peavey gear, but you may not be able to load just one or a few presets. You usually have to load the whole bank unless you have a sophisticated after market editor with that capability.[This message was edited by Jim Smith on 18 January 2001 at 06:50 PM.] |

Hi
The Session 2000 as well as the ProFex II
have the settings built in to load one preset
at a time or sets of ten. You are right the
presets are unique to each processor. Some of the Peavey products can be swapped but I'm not sure of the which ones.

Bob, what s/w are you using to transfer files?? I've tried to do some with my Peavey Transtube Fex, which is basically the same as the processor in the 2000 but other than get a sysex message, that I can't do anything with I haven't had much luck. |

Bob, I can't e-mail you, your e-mail link does not show up. e-mail me, if you want your e-mail address to remain anonymous.
I am using an AWE64 also. I've tried to do some stuff with Midi Ox and a couple of other sysex programs but haven't had too much luck. |
