Profex settings for MatchBro

Post by Jim Watkins »

Would anyone share their settings on their Provex II while using a MatchBro dobro sound?

Thank You
Jim

My advice:don't use the "MatchBro" program.
Use program # 113,("Dobro?").If you're using a standard guitar amp,such as a PV Nashville 400 (as opposed to a "rack-mount" power amp),
Don't plug into the front of the amp.Go from your ProFex to the BACK of the amp, where it says,"Pre amp in".This way,you are by-passing the pre-amp section in the amplifier,& since the ProFex is,also,a pre-amp,you don't need to go through 2 of them. I have found that this method gives me the most desirable "Dobro" effect possible. It would, also, help to use some sort of plastic bar.

Actually, the "Dobro?" patch and the "Steelbro" patch in the Profex II were voiced using my Dobro resonator guitar(can't play it worth a flip though!), and a Matchbro, which I feel is the finest device to use for resonator guitar voicing on steel.
It took our product developement manager and myself about 6 hours to voice these presets in one night. I'm glad that they are working out for you.
