Mesa Studio Preamp

Post by Larry Clark »

I was wondering if this unit was still a viable contender for a steel preamp with all the 24 bit effects preamp rack units that are available today. I recall hearing that Paul Franklin, among others used one at one time. I'm just looking for a straight preamp w/o effects.

That's a good one, but they aren't made anymore.

Thanks for the response B0B, I know they have been out of production for some time but I ran across a used one at a local dealer that looks to be in good shape. My main concern was how does the "older technology" stack up with the new stuff that is currently available? I know you used to work for Mesa so I appreciate your input.

A vote from the Mesa camp! Fat wires and tubes sound very nice...
