In a nearby pawnshop they sell something that looks like a 2-channel Tube-amp from the 60's. It says "Echolette G 200" on it with no price tag. I saw it on Sunday and don't have time to take a closer look, so does anyone know this thing? I understand that once there was a "Klimt Echolette" Echo-FX being produced, but I haven't heard of amps of this company.

I have a little Klempt (is that spelled right?) Echolette head, no speaker cabinet, that I picked up in a guitar shop many, many years ago. It is a hybrid, with a tube preamp and solid state power amp. I haven't seen it in years. It must be in the back of a closet somewhere. It has the old style tubes that plug into a socket and there is another wire that clips to the top of the tube.
Does anybody want it??

Martin, I bought a Echolett amp while I was in Berlin from 1970 to 1972. Used it to play the Volksfest and nco clubs back then. It was a 100 watt head and a 15" cab. had lots of power and sounded good on lead guitar. I think it was a bass head though cause it had no reverb. It was good enough that I brought it home with me .Used it on lead, bass and even as a PA for awhile.Finaly sold it when someone just couldn't live without the voltage switch on the back. Couln't figure that out cause every where in the US is 110 volts. Wouldn't mind having it back cause it had a good sound. Don't know how it would sound on steel though. Good luck.
