The seller's feedback ain't gonna help him. By reading the responses, etc, this guy has "issues". One would be going out on a skinny limb... $75K should include a brand new Showman.

George Gruhn, Tut Taylor, Mandolin Brothers, Scott Chinery, Tsumura, some more japanese guys have driven these prices to these levels. If somebody's willing to pay this kind of money, and SOMEBODY is, then they'll own a fine piece of Fender history. I'm sure we all own something that's worth more than it's intrinsic value. Forbes magazine said that guitars were a good investment. What do you think THAT did for prices???
As for the seller's negative/neutral feedback, look through and read them. Most of the "negatives" are no longer eBay members.

The real shame is that guitar will never see another gig in its lifetime. In fact, it will probably never be plugged in again - because that's not the reason it's fetching the big bucks. It's a rarity issue, and that's too bad.

He's re listed it and dropped the starting bid $3000.
If he keeps this up I'll be bidding on it in 23 more weeks. By then the $300 shipping wont seem so bad.

He still hasn't listed it as a '54 Esquire, even thought that's what it is, not a '53 Telecaster.
