Check this critter out.

Never seen anything like it,
but a brilliant idea none the less.
I want one even if it only has 4 strings.
I have no doubts I could play it well.
And I need a fretless electric anyway.
it's on the list.

since they seem to do custom jobs, why they'd build you an 5 or 6 stringer ?

There was a six-string guitar design that came out a few years ago with this idea, though the twist was less dramatic, 10 degrees if I remember right. It seems like you'd have to do some drastic readjustment of finger technique to play up high on the top few strings, but people can get used to anything it seems.

Take it to your local guitar mechanic and ask him to level the frets.

I left my Musicman Stingray in the van for a week in Palm Desert during a break from touring one summer. When I took it out, it looked kinda like that.
