As a free gift, the local B&N was giving away an hour long CD of Dylan's XM Radio gig with each copy of his new album sold. His new ablum is fantastic, but I hadn't gotten around to listening to the XM thing until this weekend....
I was completely blown away. Dylan is one of the best DJ's I've ever heard. The theme was baseball: every song he played was related to baseball in some way. Dylan's comments between songs were great and the delivery reminded me of something you imagine coming out of a Tex Mex station in the 50's: he has a GREAT DJ voice.
Made me nostalgic for the way radio used to be. It is making me want to buy an XM radio just to hear him. Plus he proves he knows how to recite someone else's lyrics better than anyone. |

Hi Bill. I just recently was given nine of these shows to listen to by a good friend,I started listening and I was enthralled. The show is called "Themetime Radio" and it's what radio should be.In fact each show is so consistantly good you can play them over and over.Well worth tracking down. While we're on Dylan I'll say his new studio album is fine, fine, fine.Donnie Herron plays steel.
Cheers, Shane. |

Interesting! I got one of these today with my new Robert Randolph CD's (just released, and killer) and I was impressed! |

These are my thoughts exactly, Bill. You can download all shows from this forum, BTW.
