Does anyone know the what this piece is and who composed it?? I used to play it on piano about 50 years ago, but can only remember the melody and the "feel".
I am trying to locate the sheet music so I can arrange it for E9.
I have no idea what key it was in originally, but it was played quite slowly and smoothly. I vaguely remember it said "sostenuto con espressivo".
It started like this ...
thanks

This is gonna sound like a lotta "B.S." but I swear, its the truth. I was considering learning that for an instrumental, back in the mid 60's. Its a BEAUTIFUL melody. I have it by Mantovani.

I've worked out a version of the Largo Prelude, op. 28, #20 - the one with the thick chords that goes dum dum dum di dum. It works out really well with the low strings on my uni. Someday, when I get the stuff to record digitally, I'll post it and tab it out. |

Forumite Roy Thomson has transcribed Chopin for the pedal steel guitar and did a pretty nice job of it I must say. |

David,
looking forward to hearing it. So much of this music lends itself really well to steel.
Earnest,
LOL
Yes but I notated my memory version of the melody using crotchets and minims, but when I downloaded the sheet music, it's all quavers, semi quavers and semi phlegmy quavers and that's got to affect the dum dum dum di dums ... sort of not so crotchety. |

I believe that would be the Chopin Etude 3 from Opus #10. (I believe that because that's what several people posted above. Otherwise I'd be clueless) |
