I have always liked the drive behind this crazy man's music. If you feel the same way, you need to get his latest CD, "The Last Man Standing".
This project started in 2001 and has been 5 years in the making. When they found Jerry Lee five years ago, he really wasn't in any shape to record a new CD but by the time the CD was completed he was all bright eyed and bushy tailed!
All of the musicians on the CD are given credit on each song, and yes THERE IS SOME STEEL GUITAR on some of the songs.  |

I love the Killer...been digging him since I was a little kid...looked like he had Jim Keltner playing with him on Imus last week...he don't have to get up in the morning and play with just anybody...he must like the Killer too.

This new Jerry Lee album is getting some great reviews-I'll have to pick it up.
Jim Keltner was playing with T-Bone Burnett this past weekend at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.
Some of T-Bone's new stuff is pretty "out there," but Keltner was putting on a clinic for drummers. What a master!

I remember seeing Jerry when his son (who was later killed) was still in the band....and Jerry's comment was that "the old man is still the killer".
I don't know whether he is still the killer today, but, I hope that he is.

Yes, he was-and he sure is somethin'!
Dennis also played in T-Bone's bluegrass set, and when T-Bone introduced him it went something like "My friend Steve Earle has said that all you need to know about Arkansas is Dennis Crouch on bass." LOL
T-Bone was all over the place-he might have been the guy having the most fun of anyone at the festival.

This is a good album. There is a song on the album that has Ron Wood, of Rolling Stones fame, playing pedal steel. I have been waiting to see comments about his playing here on the forum.

Last week I saw The Killer on back-to-back nights on Leno and Letterman. It was a bit mellow and subdued compared to former years, but at his age we are lucky to see him at all. In my book, he's up there with Elvis and Little Richard as one of the father's of rock'n'roll.  |

Have you seen the rag mags that are saying, "Jerry Lee Lewis's Last Days". What gives? We don't have much of a grapevine for information here in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas. In fact we just heard last week that Lincoln had been shot. Somebody give me some of the latest info on one of the wildest acts in show business, "The Killer".

My band 'flow' opened up for Jerry Lee a year ago down here.
He was clearly not his old self,
HECK who IS at 80 years old...
BUT he still played strongly and sang well.
It was a fine show and I was very glad to see it.
I bet this will be and interesting swansong album.
He seemed like he wanted to go out well,
with a bang and not a wimper.
