Hedy Lamarr... now there's a lady who really wasn't dumb, no matter how many "dumb woman" roles she had to play in the movies.
Some of you probably know (or not) that she was the inventor of "spread spectrum" radio transmission, where the frequency of a transmission is continuously hopping to different frequencies, making it impossible to intercept and monitor without having the suitable spread-spectrum receiver. This method is still used today. She is credited with other ingenius inventions as well.
Hmmm, I wonder what great inventions Paris might be working on....?
[This message was edited by Jim Phelps on 01 September 2006 at 04:17 PM.]

Kim is cool,
she was in Bell Book and Candle
at the height of her beauty.
But Heddy rocks...
smarter than most people by far,
and a sexy stunner.
If there was Mensa then,
she would have been up in the top percentage for sure.
She was also a full security clearance type during the war,
she was too smart to ignore, so they didn't.

quote:
Well she got you guys to write three pages of opinions about her I wonder who is manipulating whom....
One would think you guys are a little insecure- you always pick the easiest targets, and everyone starts firing away like Lucky Luciano in a bad '50's gangster movie... of course she is bad at it, but she gets rich making you guys come up with 100+ posts talking about it. Yeesh.

Yeah, if we all were really secure and intelligent like you two we wouldn't have posted here, like you two didn't.
Oh, wait, you did too... and it was just to tell us all how dumb and insecure we are.
Gosh, you're so superior.

Having a good time with an absurdity,
does not mean one is insecure or mentally deficient.
It MAY mean we have too much time on our hands.
Or enjoy a wide ranging sense of humor.
Or just want an excuse to look at the oiled up bikini shot again.
Or all three
[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 07 September 2006 at 11:07 AM.]

I don't see any mention of dumb posters in my comment; people like Paris Hilton thrive on being talked about and manipulation is one of their key strategies. If that makes me "superior" in any way so be it but I don't feel that way and I don't care for ad hominem attacks either,,,
[This message was edited by Peter Dollard on 09 September 2006 at 08:19 AM.]

Some of us are under 40, you know.
Paris is the ultimate 21st century fox, if you ask me. Of all the old dead actresses you guys are showing, I'm only really familiar with Marilyn Monroe. I thought she was the very first "famous for being famous" celebrity? I read that she married a baseball player, had something to do sexually with the Kennedy's, and acted unmemorably in a few movies before dying some kind of tragic death. Oh ya, she stood over an air vent with a skirt on and showed her panties. That was her big moment. I don't know, boys.........ya can't knock Paris if you're gonna show us examples like Marilyn Monroe.

I'm also surprised this thread has lasted this long.
What is with this morbid fascination with someone whose only real claim to fame is that she was born into big money?
[This message was edited by Richard Sevigny on 11 September 2006 at 04:18 PM.]
