When it comes to comic relief,
the smartest comics of an pairing were usually
the one playing the dumb one. (edit)

Bud Abbot died broke,
Lou Costello a rich and happy man.

Dino a marginal LV lounge singer with a lotta movie credits
and big rat pack friends because he was cool.

Jerry a critical success at occasional dramatic parts,
when he felt like it.
LV at his beck and call, and Labour day telathons,
helping people in need.

Laurel and Hardy being the general exception to this rule,
they BOTH played stupid and intuitive.

Cheech and Chong the both played stupid.
But both are having other careers.

There are many other examples of this.

In the Simple Life
Nicole came across as non too bright, but a decent foil for Paris.

Paris came across at playing up her dumb blonde image,
and laughing the whole time.
Clearly the instigator of it all.

I doubt that she is not a rocket sceintist,
but apparently knows how to pick advisors
and weed out bad talent around her.
Including who is a sure bet production staff for her music.

Pop music of this type isn't aimed at musicians or rocket scientists,
but at :

a) young girls dreaming of being glamourous sexy media stars.
b) young boys drooling at long legs in skimpy clothes

So Paris really has fit the music to the target well.
It is her, in general, marketing target anyway.

She is a brand, and a company and this is
just another product line.

She has a certain cuteness,
and certainly tons of glamour,
but in general, I prefer truely equine, lionesque women,
not stick-figure women.

At least she didn't go overboard with the implants...

An it does seem she IS marketing herself as
something of a cartoon or at least charicture.

Well, I don't think someone who's so thin that her body's consuming its own muscle is attractive, and her face isn't all that either. Then again, I could never see why anyone found Diana all that good looking either.

I suspect Daddy Hilton is the business brains here.

But that's not to take anything away from Paris - I mean, when you already have everything money can buy, what else is there to aim for except fame? Or notoriety. She's too young to figure that love and family counts for much more than fame anyway.

I don't find her repugnant.. I find her repulsive... She has pretty eyes,, thats about it... Other than that,as far as I am concerned, she's borderline ugly.. I am disgusted by our modern pop culture.. WHAT in heavens name has this knot head ever done to deserve to the "pop icon" status she enjoys.. what???...She has a multi billionaire daddy, period.... Yeah, I'd be REAL friggin' proud to have her or a girl like her as my daughter.... I'd sooner drink Drano .... bob
[This message was edited by Bob Carlucci on 28 August 2006 at 12:15 PM.]

Bob, glad to see you back but something's happened to your attitude. Why don't you tell us what you really think and stop being so darned 'wishy washy'. Image

I have a remote that turns her ditty boppin' butt off of everything she enters in this house. Try that, it works, and there's no 'hard feelins'; but at my age-- Image
(nevermind)

I agree with b0b's earlier assessment - she's probably a Mensa member and secretly has a doctorate in marketing. this is no dumb blond.

BW, for those who don't know, this is one of the most popular "devices" used in pro recording studios nowdas, especially on "manufactured" pop albums (Britney Spears comes to mind...)

PARIS HILTON QUOTES

I’m an actress, a brand, a businesswoman. I’m all kinds of stuff.

Every woman should have four pets in her life. A mink in her closet, a jaguar in her garage, a tiger in her bed, and a jackass who pays for everything.

You should live everyday like it's your birthday.

Life is too short to blend in.

I don't want to be known as the granddaughter of the Hiltons. I want to be known as Paris.

I'm totally normal. I think it's obnoxious when people demand limos or bodyguards. I eat at McDonald's or Taco Bell. My parents always taught us to be humble. We're not spoiled.

No matter what a woman looks like, if she's confident, she's sexy.

People are going to judge me: "Paris Hilton, she uses money to get what she wants." Whatever, I haven't accepted money from my parents since I was 18. I've worked my ass off. I have things no heiress has. I've done it all on my own, like a hustler.

Los Angeles Times, Aug. 18, 2006

I didn’t want to be like all these socialites – they sit at home, and go to the debutant ball, and marry some rich guy and that’s it. That’s all they do. I wanted to do my own thing so I could buy whatever I want, do whatever I want.

I don't think there's ever been anyone like me that's lasted. And I'm going to keep lasting.

Los Angeles Times, Aug. 18, 2006

I’m like an American princess.

Paris :
"I haven't accepted money from my parents since I was 18."

Well it wasn't her parents,
but her grandparents left her around $23 million for when she turned 18...

Can't touch the capital,
but you can invest a lot with that kinda interest coming in...

I'm pretty sure Frank was kidding about this - but HONEST, I've never even had one nightmare about Paris Hilton!

In general pop music is a baltant rip off
of something that came before.

I never would have expected advancing musical creativity from PH.

I doubt Chacha is even vaguely worried,
but this bathingsuit shot does show her
to better than usual advantage.

Normally in semi-dishabile, she still looks
like a cartoon stick figure.
[This message was edited by David L. Donald on 30 August 2006 at 02:00 AM.]

"Every real man's dream"....? Would that be because of her looks or her money?

This lady is gone now but I'd still rather dream of her than Paris Hilton, as least as far as looks go... her personality wasn't real easy to get along with...but at least she had one...but maybe Paris does too, and is just hiding it, part of the act.

There is a new TV program and the plot is "Paris Hilton talks about her new CD" so set your DVRs to E! channel and watch it over and over again.

Someone seems to think that the song bears an uncanny resemblance to a top twenty hit by, (now this bit usually gets the post ignored but I'll say it anyway,) A UK group and 'God Forbid' but they're from Birmingham.....UB40 .(The name comes from the Unemployed Benefit form number !!)

b0b, I was once told that my dog was not dumb, but in fact he was so incredibly smart he knew how to act dumb.

Could this be what you're trying to tell us about Paris?
