Loni Specter sent along a link to the inlay for the 1 millionth Martin. He's planning on having the same pattern inlaid on his front teeth, don't let him back out:

Moved to Music from No Peddlers. I agree, Loni needs the dental work to match!

Well, that explains the popularity of crystal meth.

I strumed an E chord on that guitar. It was on display at the 2005 NAMM show.

It sounded like a plain ordinary guitar.

Looked pretty though.

Martin owns it, it will NEVER be sold, nor will it be played. Just a little eye candy for the museum. Gorgeous inlay work, isn't it?

That is an awful looking guitar to me. I feel like they could have come up with something better to display. I guess I just am not cutout for the flasy kind.

Actually, when you see it in person, it is pretty impressive looking even if it is over the top. Kind of like the Hearst castle.

Stuff happens, but, it was really a shame at last year's company Christmas party when they pulled the thing out of it's display case and somebody accidentally sat on it. -I guess there's always, 1,000,001 though....
-sorry, too tempting a topic

An incredible level of craftsmanship.

I have gone to serious instrument museums,
and seen things saved for centuries,
for their beauty and estetique workmanship,
and this ranks right up there,
with instruments presented to kings
and other high ranking personages.

I am sure it sounds like a fine guitar,
since that is what it is.
Has it a "million dollar sound" because;
they sprinkled it with magic beans,
or Mother Theresa genuflected next to it,
or Buddy played it on Aug, 14th 1953...
well who cares.

It's a super work of the luthiers art!
