Jennings, I hear ya. A few more clips from their site:
Uh oh. They also sing (for about two years, I've been told.)
Georgia (QuickTime video - if you need WMVs you can find a link on their web site)
Here's a straight-ahead country MP3 with Gary Carpenter on steel:

Jeff, that's pretty amazing...
I don't know if you've ever run into my fiddle teacher, Jennie Green. She's maybe late 20's, cute as a bug, and a fiddlin fool. She's won several of the Texas contests.
My new song...

That name sounds familiar but I can't recall ever hearing her play. I'll keep an eye/ear out. She ever get up to the DFW area? |

Jeff,
Thanks for sharing! I knew one of the tunes in the medley (Temperance Reel), you were right they saved the best for last.

I listened...no surprise.

Without trying to sound like a cliched teenager, uh, they are just AWESOME!
The fact that they're so young, yet.
God bless em'. |

I ordered their CD and received it in just a few days. Wall to wall fiddles with many 2 and 3 part harmonies, all up front and full sounding in the mix. Gary Carpenter also plays some great steel parts on this. To top it off they hand wrote "Thank You!" on the back of the shipping envelope. Kind of like Ernest Tubb flipping his guitar over and saying "Thanks". Great music and 14 songs on one CD is a great bargain.

Me too, Greg.
Kept going back to their website and clicking and listening, and finally, I just SNAPPED - the order went out immediately. Why not sooner?
No clue.
They are just super, and the bass player sealed it for me. The man does not play a bad or redundant note.
Why isn't this Texas Swing being heard/promoted more than it is? Makes me mad.
I sent the web link to our bass player, and he flipped out [just loved it]. Not to discredit, Sandman, but I commented - "you oughta strive for this style of bass - not only will it make you a better player, but in speight of your obstinance on most all of my suggestions, this music will actually make you a more happy, humble, and less annoying person."
Try it out.[This message was edited by CHIP FOSSA on 09 August 2006 at 04:10 AM.] |

Chip,
FYI, Mark is usually the staff bass player for the Dallas show every March. He also plays a killer fiddle. Think he was one of the twin fiddles during Bush's set last year and with Morrell. Tremendous musician.
Unfortunately it is my understanding he's no longer playing with the Quebe Sisters Band. |

Thanks Jeff, for that info. I'll bet he IS just a great fiddler. Too bad he isn't with the sisters anymore. Isn't that just how it goes? |
