My deleted thread was simply a link to a CNN article which stated that the Chicks are canceling some shows due to lower-than-expected ticket sales. b0b, I made NO comment about it- I only posted the link because I found it interesting and because their steel player is an active forum member.

It's difficult to see how a thread about the Dixie Chicks is not "about music". There are a great many things that get posted here, and which survive, that have far less to do with music than this one.

It got deleted so fast that I never saw whether anyone responded to it.

Lock it up if it gets out of hand but, like Pete Finney, I have a problem with censoring it as if it never existed... a little too "1984" if you ask me.

This thread isn't about music either, so it might be deleted.

I agree with your your judgements almost 100% of the time, b0b, but I think the moderator overstepped the boundary here. Of course, she's only human.

Sincere thanks for a great forum!

Rick

Edited to add paragraph 1.

With out having read the deleted thread. The Dixie Chicks have been "elevated" to a status that is no longer about their music. They have become a lightning rod for the polarization in our country and any mention of their name is now a direct reference to politics, like it or not.

I didn't see it, but I was told that someone flamed their political opinions into it and the gang was piling on. There is discussion about it in the Forum Feedback section.
