I have been impressed with BP for a long time. I have all his CD's and I listen to them more than most of the other 500 CD's I own. Randall Currie Does some Realy cool steel stuff on Brad's last couple CD's. Randall also tours with Brad. And that Movie Star Marrying, Telecaster Blaster from West my God Virgina? Yes Brad Paisley is incredible. Not to mention very blessed. He has more talent in his pinky than I have in my whole body. HaHa!

Welcome to the forum Doug. When Brad's first CD came out, my old band wanted me to play "Nervous Breakdown" for our break song. I told them I'd prolly have a nervous break down trying to learn it. I'm left handed but play righty. I've always wondered if I woulda learned lefty could I have picked faster. BRAD's The Man!

Thanks Jim,
Yeah, that's a tuffy...
I have a very good friend of mine that's a lefty and he plays his (right handed) guitar upside down... My lord... He needs slapped for that.. But he's a great player too. Go figure.
Thanks for the welcome!

Off topic here for a sec, I began using what I call the Nashville grip 5 years ago and that doubled my speed from just a pick. But still most Brad Paisley and Brent Mason stuff is outa my league. What I do as a lead player is ok and and gets us by real well as a duo. I get to do a lot of tastefull noodling to fill things up a bit. I started playing b-bender cause of Jimmy Olander of Diamond Rio. Then few short years later here come this kid from WV on a pink paisley G-bender. There wasn't any doubt that I was going to enjoy his music. I'd love to see BP live once. If I lived anywhere in Ohio I'd be at Doug the sizzler's house every chance I had. HaHa!

Thanks Jim, your too kind!
I was able to see Brad at the fair last year and I was very impressed! The mix was actually very good considering being at the the "fair".
They had his guitar cranked, but it was that kind of tone you don't mind to hear really loud.
Jimmy O' is one of my all time fav's too!

Brad is definitely a great guitarist. I remember a few years ago when he played the Opry, he was singing Buck Owens' song "I've Got A Tiger By The Tail" with Vince Gill singing with him and right after he finished the first verse, he turned to Randle Currie on the steel and said "Aw, pick it Randle!" before Brad played his awesome guitar solo.Brad started playing guitar when he was eight years old and his grandfather gave him his first guitar. If you watch Brad play guitar, you can tell he is concentrating hard on his playing. "Time Well Wasted" is a really good CD, with some tasteful and impressive steel and tele pickin'. Also, the songwriting disarms you with its tendency to really hit hard emotionally. I'm not one for the sap, but tunes like "Waiting on a Woman" and the title track are heart-warming gems. Even his duet with Alan Jackson on "Parking Lot", however cheeky, is somehow full of charm.
Highly recommended.
